Oven at 450°
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup milk
In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and cheese. Use clean fingertips to pinch butter and cheese into the flour mixture until the dough is crumbly.
Add the milk, stirring with a fork, just until the dough is soft.
Drop dough in tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden on the top. Cool for 3 minutes. Serve warm.
Makes 8 biscuits
