Snickerdoodles

Bake at 375°     

1 cup shortening                                 
1½ cups sugar                                    
2 eggs                                                       
2¾ cups flour                                     
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon       

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together.  Sift dry ingredients except sugar and cinnamon and add.  Chill and roll into balls.  Dip in sugar and cinnamon.  Bake until light brown.  Makes 5 dozen.
